Dirk's song
Edited per Chris' request.
If I have done this right you will see a video that a friend of Dirk's put together. The friend, Chris, wrote the lyrics on 911 and Dirk wrote the music at a later date. It is Dirk singing the song. Chris took a copy of the song a few days ago and put pictures to it. I think it has some touching moments, but some parts seem kind of random to me.

Well, I just love Dirk's singing voice!
The song has a really strong emotion to it, and one that I think really reflects the immediate, post 9-11 sentiment and feeling.
For some reason, even though I am only moderately patriotic, I really love songs about our flag. :)
I am Dirks friend, Chris Robinsons and I actually wrote the lyrics on a box druning 9/11 and Dirk wrote the music. He added the Afgan line after we went to war.
Hi, Chris I am sorry I my post didn't reflect a more equal writing process. I was going by my experience and memory of when Dirk was working on the music here at home.
I don't mind changing the post. I am going to delete blackkawk's post though, because I think it is rude. I do not mind yours "setting me straight." I also don't think the 3 or 4 people who read this blog would mind it either.
